Filipino Dependent ARC seeking for employment

Hi everyone! I know some of you brought their families in Taiwan as their dependents but I would like to know how are they dealing with the life here? Have you tried finding a job for them? Since it is hard to find an employers to do work permit sponsorship. How do they feel about it?

I’m currently looking for Part time or full time job but to no avail as most of the companies are looking for people with Taiwan I.D Or work permit.

I’m a housewife and staying at home all day. I wanted to do something productive.

Thanks for your answers. Godbless you all.

Do you speak Chinese?

I do speak Conversational Mandarin.

I feel like your ability to speak English and Chinese would make you a good candidate for a buxiban. Have you considered that possibility?

Oh! that’s a good question. I haven’t think about it because I heard that the competition is too high and I don’t have an experience in teaching😬.

I’ve had undergrads with no experience and no degree get cram school jobs. I think because they’re cheap, and don’t need a work permit, they can get jobs

If you want a work permit (a legal requirement for you, I think), and a good salary, probably not as easy.

If you just want to make a few bucks killing time by entertaining children, probably a possibility.

Experience doesn’t matter, but a degree in anything might be required for a work pernit…

As much as possible I want to get a job. I even have my TESOL certificate. I just didn’t think that I’m qualified. I guess I need to be more confident.:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
Thank you for sharing.

I’d worry about being taken advantage of. If they know you have no other options they will pay you very little and have you do all of the work. Perhaps you are ok with that in order to get some experience.

Well, tbh I really wanted to gather some experience to other field aside from semiconductor company. My husband is a foreign English teacher, he suggested me to apply as an assistant teacher but don’t settle for less or let the employer take advantage of me, because that’s what he always see happened to his Filipino colleagues. :smiling_face_with_tear: Hope I can land a job in teaching. Probably north part of Taiwan.
