Who has supported wars here?
Is there or could there ever be a war you see as justifiable, despite everything that it supports (defense industries/contractors) and causes (unfortunate deaths)?
Like, what is the point where this position ends? What are the prerequisites? At what point is it justifiable to get involved in a war? For example, would the entrance of the allied powers into war against Germany be justifiable to you? And for that matter, should they have moved sooner (materiel issues nonwithstanding) to have prevented a greater tragedy later? There were many moments where martial action couldâve ended the nazi advance â notably, Czechoslovakia and the remilitarization of the Rhineland â that, if you ignore issues of materiel and public will which kept Chamberlain from getting involved sooner, couldâve ended the Nazi rise in itâs comparative infancy. Would military action in such cases, and with the benefit of hindsight, not be justifiable in order to lessen the tragedy of all involved parties in the longer term?
These arenât supposed to be gotchas, I just imagine there must be a point where this position reaches a logical end.
I suggest you have a read of this if you can find it. I have a copy.
No wars are organic.
And USA will buy from Russia to try to lower prices, maybe they end the war in Iran?
