That seems pretty reasonable.
Consider hanging out in Taiwan for a bit if you have some time-the East Coast is a lot cooler than ‘near Taichung’–try Taroko Gorge, Dulan etc.

Get out of the cities and see the east coast and the mountain areas plus the southern tip and maybe green island and orchid islands. At least you wouldve seen the island of Taiwan.
I’d give Hualian a try, too. The mountains are so large and so close to the city! Like a green curtain drawn to the west, esp. after a rainstorm clears the air. Hualian has a very unique feel for a 'wan city. In Taipei, one has 101 and the riverside parks. Every other 'wan city is blah sameness … except Hualian.
