I’m booking my flights to taipei in the next few days. Firstly, where is the cheapest place to book flights on the net. I also need to be able to change the dates as im not sure when im returning. DO i have to have a flight back to the UK for a visa, or will one to HK do?

When I moved here, I did so on a one-way ticket to Hong Kong with an open-ended stopover in Taipei. The powers that be had no problems with that.Oh, and don’t fly China Airlines.
I don’t know about Net tickets. You might want to look into some travel agencies in your area that cater to the Chinese population. They should be inexpensive.

Nope, you can obtain a visa at any foreign representative office of Taiwan (sorry, Taipei).
