Fluoride-free toothpaste?

I normally use Tom’s but my supply has near run out and would like to continue to avoid fluoride.

Is there anywhere to find this stuff in Taiwan (near Taichung specifically?) - ideally that specific brand, but any without fluoride will do. Maybe a health or import shop?

Just saying…

The Weleda range is on iherb.

You know there’s no fluoride in the water here don’t you ?

You could just use salt instead. A lot cheaper and keeps your teeth sparkly white!

PX Mart has fluoride free, as well as Cottonfields and Santa Cruz organic stores.

Don’t know about salt, but baking soda is good to use occasionally.

They sell some fluoride-free stuff in the organic stores around Taipei. Next time you find yourself in town you could always stock up.

Sometimes people are allergic to fluoride and don’t have much of a choice.

Just be careful with this. It will strip your teeth fast.

Hm, didn’t know iHerb shipped here (reliably). Will look into it, thanks!

I don’t put the water here in my mouth

Looks like there’s no Cottonfields in Taichung. I will have a look in Santa Cruz.

I’m quite surprised PX Mart would have some, that’s definitely the most convenient to pick up - do you know the brand? I can’t read the labels and the staff usually don’t speak English.

Fluoride is a Communist plot to turn us all into homos.

They certainly do, have been ordering stuff in every 2 weeks for the last year since I got here. Just be careful not to go over ~80USD or you end up on customs’ radar for duties and such. Also use SF express not DHL.

There is also this stuff, from China I think. Pretty common at major stores. Doesn’t seem that natural but there is no fluoride.

Doesn’t seem too enticing when the call it “silica-gel-desiccant”

I second that.

Thanks everyone.

I visited PX Mart and amongst the surprisingly vast selection of Chinese-only toothpaste boxes, found some “Biorepair” stuff that actually said “No Flouride” (and a bunch of other stuff I didn’t know I didn’t want to be in my toothpaste) in English.

I agree; seems like a novel concept. Not too worried about the Engrish, that stuff I bought spelled it “toothpast” on the label. :man_shrugging:

Maybe next time!

This is a bit off topic but, how do you know which websites are legitimate to order from here?

Normally on western sites I can tell in part by the design and in part by reputation, but Chinese website design is so simplistic and cluttered and offputting, and I have no idea how to gauge their reputation.

leezen.com.tw is popular Buddhist/Vegetarian health food store chain in Taiwan with many branches. There might be one in your neighborhood. I shop there often. Here is a list of their branches https://www.leezen.com.tw/store.php

Pretty expensive… They may be Buddhist but they still price gouge like every other place with a niche here.

I do like their organic soy milk though, probably the best I’ve tasted…

Health Bestowing Hands in Taichung carries a few varieties. She ships all over Taiwan, too!

Good bread too.
