does anyone know where i could buy foam rollers? they look like kids’ pool toys but are a bit thicker and stronger than that–used for pilates and physical therapy. they’re usually about 3-4 feet long and maybe 6-8 inches thick. they don’t bend easily like the pool toys. anyone have one of these or know where i could get them?
They are easily available on ruten.com.tw
I teach people to use a tennis ball instead because they are cheaper, more commonly available and go deeper than a roller into several of the muscle groups.
thanks, FF! i will check that website… as a dancer i’ve been using tennis balls for years to massage my feet and yeah, they can really get in to those piriformis muscles (ouch!) but the foam rollers have different benefits. they do a really nice IT-band massage. i miss my foam roller! (and my mom won’t ship it to me, haha)
I use the tennis ball for the IT band too. But the tennis ball doesn’t do the hammies as well as the foam roller does. Hope you can buy one.
i was looking at these and found them way too expensive for a bit of compressed foam. i ended up buying thick pvc tubing and then wrapping/taping a towel around it. works for me for a fraction of the price
