I don’t know if this has been bandied around the forums yet, so here goes.
At 7 o’clock this evening (I think, it’s midday CET), the announcement for the host country for the World Cup in 2010 will be made. Four years ago South Africans were absolutely crushed when it was awarded to Germany, but hey, maybe the extra four years is what we needed. In 2010, the country will be an African one for the first time (so we won’t have to worry about Terror Firmer pile-driving anyone up in the stands. Heavy sighs of relief all around), and the bidding countries are South Africa, Morocco, Libya, Egypt and Tunisia.

If SA can get Nelson Mandela to make an appearance then they should get up. He has a name that can be traded on.
The only thing I can see getting in the way is FIFA politics. Sepp Blatter is a real snake in the grass. If FIFA were a body that made logical choices then SA would get the green light for sure.

I’m so sad that Terror Firmer removed his “home video of ma maw fallin’ off the roof of ma trailer” signature. At least the ultrasound avatar is still there.
And I am so glad that you view football with this kind of exclusivity. So we shouldn’t get you any tickets, then? Really, not even one? Such a shame.
Any football fans out there would know if one of the Taiwan’s TV cable networks, ESPN, StarTV, Era, Videoland, or others will carry the Euro 2004 games ?
