... formal clothes for tweens to rent?

My kid is due for a growth spurt, so I’m not inclined to get formal shoes and dress pants only them to be used once or twice. Anyone know any place where I can rent for 11 - 13yo in Taipei?

Flip flops?

Maybe a bit more formal than those. That does looks nice

They’re $350 USD. They’d better look good!

A friend suggested I try a Wedding Album shop, like those on Zhongshan N Road, Sec 2 (near Datong) or on Ai Guo by CKS. Does anyone have any advice or recommendations on places that may let us rent for the weekend?

Maybe I could get away with a borrowing a Dracula costume (ok, sans cape) or something like that from a Halloween shop

Still on the look out for black formal pants in Taipei suitable for a recital or performance by a 13yo boy. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated

Why not just get something cheap and a bit oversized? I got some decent polyester pants near a train station for 700NTD. You can take them in, then let them out.

Thank you. Do you mean behind Taipei Main Station? Or near any MRT station? I’m coming from Shilin so I will check around the MRT before heading to Main Station

Ah, sorry. For me that’s the Kaoshiung train station. But there are plenty of similar cheap men’s clothing stores spread around down here. Often they’re in the corner at an intersection. Should be easy to find one up there…

Taking it in and letting it out needs some skill and a sewing machine. You could cheat with safety pins and a belt. I haven’t found a great place for alterations in Kaohsiung but a shopping mall might have someone who can do it

I’ve found places that do rent out, but the price is about $3000.

A whole suit can be tailored near Ximen for $7000 give or take so… you can probably just tell him to make it adjustable and then adjust it as needed.
