I second pissedoffsandman. The award should be called the sandman award for total ineffability. It should be a cup made of plastic with cheap gold-coloured plating and it should have a tartan ribbon pendant from the handle. A wee mannie on the top would also be quite fitting.

I was appointed by private sources to manage this thread, and it is strictly against my instructions to even consider awards on negative nominations. Non seconded nominations will not be considered either. It’s not my call. :idunno: Also please note that any awards will be revoked if the recipient has been posting under the influence of enhancing drugs.

I second sandman’s nomination for his tendency to reason with very consistent accuracy. Problem is, I doubt he’ll pass the urine test.

For the Nearest Thing to English by a Non-native Speaker Award, I jointly nominate Tash, CCTang and Gustav.

For the Best Illustrated Post Award, I nominate Dangermouse’s fine account of his cultural exchange with that lovely taxi driver.

For the Most Enthusiastic Spokesperson for the Potato Award, I nominate Oirishstu.

For the Most Waspishly Funny Gal from Up North Award, I nominate Buttercup.

For the Most Helpful Poster Award, for which there is a long list of worthy contenders, I nominate Mucha Man as pipping all the others to the post.

And I nominate Huang Guang Chen for a special award because he’s bang on the money and makes me chuckle at least as much as any other poster.

I’m still mulling over my nomination for the Best Poster to Go Skinnydipping with in a Mountain Stream. Any suggestions?
