This is what I was getting at in this post (we wrote at about the same time, but I hadn’t seen yours when I wrote mine):
My understanding, I think based on previous responses to other people’s FSC complaints, was that banks are allowed to follow their own policies and refuse applications as they see fit… just that it makes it much easier for us to complain when they’re open about being discriminatory. If it’s just a quiet refusal with no explanation why, I feel like this would be harder to fight.
Maybe just quickly complain anyway, on the assumption you’ve been refused because you’re a foreigner? Let them give you a better reason.
