Fubon costco credit card

Yes!

Has anyone received their Fubon Costco card yet? How long does it take for you? I applied on Feb. 8, and the status still shows that the application is being reviewed…

well, the customer service told me they are inundated with applications.

I already received mine, I applied on 2-Feb and got it only on 18-Feb.

Anyways, u can’t use the card at Costco until 8-Aug, went ytd and they let me used the card as membership but not to pay, still accepts only the Cathay united one

From my own experience, if you have the current credit card from before, you don’t need to do anything. You will be sent a new one from Fubon. I got mine a month ago and did not have to do anything. Mind you, you also need to have the n000000000 digit ID number. The older ID numbers of two letters-8 numbers will not work.

I sent my application on the 7th and Fubon called me on the 8th to tell me they’ll process it, but till today, the website still shows the “call the bank if you have any further questions” page.

I called Fubon today to make sure they’ve dealt with my application and they told me that I was approved and that my card is on its way hahah

Well, I filled, or rather, the kind customer service lady filled out the form for me. I am waiting for them to call me because they want copies of my passport, my APRC…and proof of holding property.

Sigh.

I think this is the end of a beautiful relationship.

I have credit cards from six banks, dimmit. Do I have to be married to a local/be an ROC citizen to get one from Fubon?!?!

Called Friday, they said it always says that for foreigners.

…begs the question…why discriminate even here…?

Nope, not married and have cards with all the major banks, taishin even just approved me without any guarantor, even HSBC relented after I brought them to the ombudsman.

Ofc u need to provide copies of ur docs to the bank for identification, that’s the minimum requirement. As long as they don’t ask u for a guarantor, it’s all good. A copy of ue tax statement can do, or ur salary slips or 3 latest months worth of passbook copy. To ascertain ur creditworthiness.

That’s it, if u have already a fubon card just mail in the form.

Yep, ID or proof of income or tax records, no biggie. Asking a foreigner for ownership of property? Not kosher.

No, I have no Fubon card. As a matter of fact, I closed down my account with them years ago, even closed the safety deposit box I had in one if their branches due to a couple of shenanigans that broke my trust with them. Hence I am biased to disliking dealing with them now. With no other choice available if I want to keep on buying Costco online.

Here here.

One can get almost any card but some of the banks require an argument with a manager first.
I got their card years ago but had to speak to the manager after filing a complaint as they were adamant I needed a guarantor.
Afterwards they have given me good service.

These people are really getting on my nerves.

So I finally get the link they told me about to send the remaining copies of the usual ID documents. Well, the link sends me to a portal where they tell me the status of my application. Current status: call customer service.

Called customer service. She sent the alleged link again…which sent me to the same place. She sent me an email address to send the remaining paperwork. Including proof of property, she says. Sigh.

As I was getting ready to send the stuff I got, I get an email from the bank. They are asking the ID copies, etc, tax records, salary payslip and, this one I am still scratching my head: evidence the salary has entered my bank account. :wall:

Lovely. It seems that Fubon is being obtuse not only with foreigners but locals too. Wonder what is the purpose? I mean, Costco account should be a cash cow, me thinks. Why are they making things so difficult?

Basically, they are citing the case someone got a card with a 5000 NTD credit limit and others who got ask to present copies of even their insurance policies.

Who said I was married to a local…?

Well, you have a kid with ROC passport. Either you or your better half are locals for that to happen.

People who aren’t married can’t have kids? Have we stepped back to 1850?
