Any recommendations for a reasonably-priced comprehensive Full Body Health Check in Taipei or New Taipei, ideally English-friendly, that does not require NHI? Asking for my mother (70).
Depends on how much you want to spend I guess, “reasonably priced” compared to where? For a 70yo female I wouldn’t be surprized if “comprehensive” was 70K+ NT$, of course there are cheaper packages. Adventist in Taipei generally seems to get good reviews, you can check their prices on their website if I remember correctly.
Do not, under any circumstances, go to the Cardinal Tien Hospital in Xindian.

國泰健康管理(內湖健檢中心) is decent, but the thing that annoys me is citizens can use their app to check results as they come out and foreigners with A(P)RC cannot because their app does not accept A(P)RC IDs, so foreigners have to wait 2-3 weeks for the physical mail. I submitted feedback about this to them 3 years ago and nothing changes.
If that doesn’t bother you, they charge based on the project items you select. Routine check without many optionals is around 8-15k TWD. They don’t accept NHI
You can also pick a large hospital such as Taipei Veterans Hospital

Cost will depend on if you want a CT scan and other advanced tests.
If just common blood, x-ray tests I think 2,000 will be enough.
Hospitals and clinics usually have various package deals because NHI doesn’t always cover what extras some people may want. For example a friend wanted a cardiac calcium check and had no symptoms so he paid extra himself…it was promoted at the hospital…I recall around 20k for the package.
I went to a local lab a few days ago to do an extra early cholesterol panel for 600 plus an additional item for 300. I ended up just selecting a package for 900 which tested those items plus about 20 other items…kidneys, liver etc… labs and clinics offer several different packages.
I received the results by email the same afternoon .
Maybe best for you is to consult with a local clinic to decide what extent is best for your mother and get advice on what tests and which hospital to go to.

Cathay Health Care is often recommended. They post the different levels as well as costs (English website, and pdf downloads of tests/cost).
