The first Tour of the Funky Brothers !
After releasing their album in 2013, getting nominated at the Golden Melody awards in 2014, the Funky Brothers still didn’t have their own tour across Taiwan !
Now it’s time to get on the road for this fall, starting at Taipei Legacy, then to Tainan, Kaohsiung, Taichung, and even Macau !
Didn’t we say we’d go pick up some girls ? Tour starts this 11/26 and arrives in Taichung on the 12/06 !
For this occasion the Funky Brothers also release an EP , and well as new merch. For one Funky brothers towel bought, we will give you one EP for free !
【Funky Brothers】
Formed in 2007, the Funky Brothers get their inspiration from the 70~80’s, the golden age of Funk, Soul and Disco. Add some Blues, R&B, Acid Jazz or Reggae and that will give you a taste of what the Brothers mix to have the audience dance into their border-less world. The power – we might as well say the magic- of the Funky Brothers is based on a friendly groove and dedicated to anyone, to everybody, to the world, to you, to us all.
The band is fronted by Airy sharing her warmth with her powerful voice and charming smile. The Rhythmic section is based on the precision and creativity of drummer Guojin and bassist Yingmu. The multifaceted guitarist Andy brings some psychedelic feeling with his solos, whatever style it could be. And to complete the funky sound, the brass section of the Funky Brothers blows some color into the music.

【 Point22(.22) 】
Taichung’s very own purple-headed power trio, point22 may not be the most poker-faced band on the island but they are dead serious about their music. Musically described as trashcan funk at a punk picnic, these lads encourage the audience to drink along when they rock the stage. Point22 have collectively been performing, recording, touring, practicing, laughing, drinking and rocking Asia for the past 10 years. Winners of the 2007 I.C.R.T. Band Competition and with 2 cds under their skirts, plus a new one in the works, this band is always ready to smack you in the middle ear, give you the finger, kiss you on the mouth, drink all your beer and dry hump your cousin. They might act like and even dress like white trash but these guys have some serious skills.
The rhythm section moisten your loins making it slippery and easy to move. The guitar makes the blood run to certain areas creating a warm, fuzzy, happy feeling. The harmonies tend to make certain areas hardened and pointy. Then the lyrics, well, the lyrics simply rip all yer clothes off, bends you over and delivers the goods. In the end, it’s a sweaty, exhausted, guilty, smokey experience.
