Gangsta shooting styles of Africa

Although the threads in this section generally discuss geo-politics from a theoretical viewpoint , I thought you might all enjoy learning a bit about the tactical side of things, so the link is to few photos of how serious gangsta brothers handle their firearms on the streets of Africa.

Hands down one of the funniest threads I have ever seen.

And a very appropriate Kim du Toit post in the thread.

Very good Brian… :bravo: :bravo:

:bravo: :bravo: Still good to see Black men being shown in positive light. Bravo Brian

Yeah, I remember seeing an article about British troops about to be sent to Sierra Leone (?) being shown a picture of a skinny kid draped in charms firing an assault rifle from the hip- the briefing officer interrupted their laughter to point out that the 16-year-old has been involved in continuous fighting since he was twelve, and that he knows his charms and style are effective because he’s still alive and everyone else he knew is already dead.

Sight alignment and fire control will always ensure that miscreants such as these go down fast & hard. :sunglasses:

Yeah, the 'lucky charm" solution don’t work, but is popular among certian groups. As I wrote in an article for Classical Fighting Arts magazine about a year ago…

"…all shared in common a belief that certain practices would render a person impervious to sword cuts or rifle bullets. These practices included various martial arts postures, magic charms, and the ingestion of herbal medicines.

These beliefs were reinforced by stories of how Qing and Republican era soldiers had shot at members of these various secret societies and the

Ignorance of this scale involving firearms can only be funny or tragic.

I laughed long and hard.

I really can’t see what was so funny about men who have been forced since childhood to become apart of a cycle of violence that has caused them to place this allegiance to it higher than their families. What’s so funny about having your childhood stolen and then for years having to deny your own humanity to take others so that you can mantain a level of survival?

Those are very strange pictures. I can see why the guy in the orange life jacket has no need to fear presenting a ludicrously visible target in an urban environment. He has more chance of getting hit by a bolt of lightning…

What the hell is this place? I mean how are you supposed to go shopping or down the pub with all these chaps on the street? And where do they get all the bullets? Are they firing blanks? What about the guy with the belt-fed machine gun? I guess he doesn’t worry about changing the barrel every 200 rounds. Ha. Jesus.

:astonished:

Careful now, Miranda.

Those are Black people you’re talking about. :unamused:

Yes, but first and foremost, they are HUMANS. Or did we forget that since ‘they’ are over killing each other anyway :noway:

Hey… let’s be fair. I think the objection made was regarding children in war-torn nations. Children… not black or white or brown children… just children. I agree, such images and realities are horrific and unsettling, to say the least.

So please put in the TEMPORARY THREAD.

I’d say this objection has nothing to do with children, and everything to do with … well … you know.

Yea I’m objecting very snidely and sarcastically. I really didn’t see what good could come from it.

Perhaps, pictures of little girls from Asia making adult sexual poses while being forced to serve in sexual slavery would also be good comic material to pass the time. :unamused:

That’s called child porn, and is clearly illegal.

There nothing illegal about pictures of men holding guns.

Umm your point is? It’s child porn if it’s done for the viewer. What if the pictures are documentations of sexual slavery? Is that still porn? Especially if it shows up in National Geographic?

Oi…if you can’t see the friggin’ point…Forget it.
You can’t compare child porn/sex slavery pics to africans with guns.
Stop making ridiculous analogies.

I don’t think the analogy was ridiculous.

Look, all NH is saying, as I read her posts, is that we would/should not find anything amusing about photos of child prostitutes… or let’s say pictures of women who live broken sad lives in part because as children they were sexually exploited… How is that so completely different from pictures of child warriors and photos of young men who live pathetic lives partly due to the fact that they have been orphaned at young ages and have been fighting, dying and killing from childhood times?

This is sad.

Have you read your analogies, or you clearly stiring the pot. I have the balls to take this arguement on, so throw down the gauntlet. This isn’t a ridiculous analogy. What is ridiculous to me is how people still in this day and age of advance technology seem to categorize levels of pain, violence and such. At the core it’s the same, just in different forms. Yet, we actively accept idiotic reasoning why one pain is okay to exsist while another is deserved.
