Girl across from me has the same, except hers is a K-pop idol. The girl also spends an inordinate amount of time doing her makeup, lipstick, nails and other girlie-girl stuff. The two issues are related, because it’s a matter of a young, semi-professional woman acting like a school girl. Doesn’t bother me at all because she doesn’t work for me, so I don’t care if she actually gets anything done or not (lots of time spent primping and listening to ipod) and I find it amusing seeing this pretty young schoolgirl doing her silly school girl things in this otherwise solemn and sterile corporation.
porn is offensive because it … because… umm… exploits women… it is an exploitation of wymyn.
So, likewise, idols are offensive because they … hmmm… impose upon men… It is an imposition of certain notions of masculinity on myn…
Not quite. People find public displays of porn offensive because they may not want to view a giant boner or a big hairy pussy every time they walk past someone’s cubicle. Public display of sexual organs is generally considered inappropriate in modern society. Public display of fully-clothed pop stars is less universally seen as improper.
