Give up playing basketball, or

…insist on better personal hygiene.

I play basketball often – a few times a week or more. Next time you play, pay attention to the raking, scraping, scratching sound comes with somebody’s shot. That is the sound of some under 30 dude with long fingernails caressing the ball as it arcs through the air.

It’s alright if the trend is for Taiwanese guys to have longer nails than girls – as long as they don’t play basketball.

At my regular b-ball spot, I was injured before by an idiot who not only had long nails, but who trimmed them so that they were POINTY ! And this is among organized teams … uniforms … referee. I complained to their coach, to the referee. They don’t reprimand or take the offender off the court … just “hey you, bad boy. Don’t do that.” the end.

I have found no alternative but to check nails before playing and refuse to guard sula fools with long nails.

signed,

tired of being scratched by sissies

no doubt…

It’s even worse is when you are playing outside. Open cuts and dirt not a good combo.

Also, to anyone who thinks it’s a good idea to play with watches or other types of jewelry, take it off. You almost have to get used to it cause almost everyone has long nails, watches etc…

But honestly nothing pisses me off more while playing pick up than a little rat playing “flying hands” defense with, in my opinion, gross looking girl nails that are long enough to dig a grave with.

just got one of my contacts knocked out by someone a bit too eager to defend me sticking his fingers in my eyes…

last time my pinky got stuck in someones wrist band…

get scratches all the time…

other than that, outdoor basketball is pretty harmless in Taiwan
