Global Cooling--Al and Tipper Gore Split

Was his new found wealth and access to enviro-chicks the reason for the breakup? Off to greener pastures? Some global fooling? I smell a story here. Met a lady while serving on the board of Apple? I wonder if Tipper will get the Prius?

News stories are denying an affair, saying that the couple just grew apart after his time on the road. Why after 40 years though? Especially, since they’ve always showcased their love for one another in numerous campaigns and news stories, which I always felt was staged and a little petit-bourgeois. A 40-year marriage usually doesn’t simply end. You don’t go through all the trials and tribulations of a marriage (particularly in the public eye) to part ways and grow old alone. There’s another woman IMHO. Men don’t leave unless they have someone else lined up. What is especially interesting is that they just forked over 8.8 million for a new house in Southern California. If you’re growing apart as they mention in the news stories, you don’t make this kind of purchase together one month before you separate, particularly if you mention this has been well thought out. Bullshit. I see these news stories as PR fluff…hope people start digging deeper–Atwater style

Was it just another example of Gore not speaking the truth all along? All that alone time on the road for Al may have been the cause of the separation in more ways than one me thinks.

Will be interesting to see how this one develops.

One question though–did Al Gore invent Divorce like he invented the Internet?

He’s finally noticed that she has a ridiculous name.

Shouldn’t this go in the “Who gives a shit” forum, or at least D&R?

It’s certainly not International Politics.

Some former politician is getting divorced. Big deal. Half of all marriages end in divorce.

Is this any better than a tommy “Gee whiz, a man got bit by a dog” thread?

It’s the former VP of the United States and someone who always used his family, often quite shamelessly, in his political campaigns. Just a month ago, together they bought a 8.8 million dollar home, and a month later they’re saying they’ve thought about this separation for a long time. Something just doesn’t add up. Wonder if there is an Edwards type of story here. Failed presidential candidates in the Democratic Party. So open to scandal.

When you find your story why don’t you come back and tell us about it. Until then I find it about as interesting as Tipper’s hemorhoids. Sure it’s theoretically possible there may be some fascinating story about how she got them, but till then it’s just a boring, ordinary, ugly fact of life. It doesn’t matter what party he is. So far there’s no drama or scandal about it at all. Just a divorce. Big whoopee.

Its a lot better than a “Gee whiz, a man got bit by a dog” thread. Nowhere even close to being as good as a “Look at this scrawny, small-titted Asian woman in high heels” thread, though.

As if his mansion in Tennessee didn’t burn up enough energy, it looks as if a divorced Gore would possibly use more energy.  Now in the 50s people used to stay together for the sake of the family, you’d think that such a dedicated environmentalist and global warming fanatic would stay together for the planet hahahahaha.

How anyone could stay married to either of them is beyond me.

Well…they gave it 40 yrs.

Thats a good run.

I wondered how long it would take the bloody eastern establishment media to blame Gore’s divorce on Bush…So damn predictable…and it’s not some moonbat journalist. It’s Sally Quinn—the Queen of the Georgetown cocktail circuit, journalist and wife of Washington Post Watergate former managing editor/Kennedy hangeron Ben Bradlee.

Blame Bush for everything. That seems to be the SOP for dim-witted eastern establishment liberals. They have no problem hiring family members into the newspaper business, but really don’t like fair elections where people decide. Such elitism makes me cringe.

Yawn. Separations happen.

:bravo: :bravo: His gung-fu is strong… :bravo: :bravo:

Except that she says no such thing in that video clip. You’re off in la la land, wookie.

She doesn’t even mention Bush or blame him for anything.

She merely states that winning the popular vote but losing the electoral vote for president was traumatic for them both, which is perfectly understandable. Put many long years of relentless hard work, heaps of time and money, and intense committment into an immense goal that the whole family focuses on 100% for years, and get that close. . . . only to lose by the slimmest of margins (and a questionable one at that) would naturally have a huge emotional impact on anyone (or any couple).

It’s well known that a large percentage of parents whose child is murdered end up getting divorced. This seems analgous to me. It didn’t necessarily have to result in divorce, but the “loss” of the election after all those years of dedication, committment by the whole family, and even expectation perhaps, including a battle all the way up to the Supreme Court. . . and then to finally lose and it’s all completely definitively over. Damn, that would be hard for anyone to take. What does one do next with ones life?

Heck, I witnessed my own father struggling for years to figure out who he is and what he wants to do after he finally retired completely (a process that took several years). But with the Gores everything was so much bigger and grander and more public than my dad’s little career, so the end must have been all the more sudden, devastating and utterly perplexing for them. Plus, my dad retired at 70 something. Gore was still young. What next? Suddenly life as they knew it had ended. Everything they shared was gone – their professional goals, projects, committments, etc. Gone. Suddenly, they were both set completely free to rediscover who they are and what they want to do. So it shouldn’t be so surprising they decided to set off on different paths.

Nothing sinister about that. Just life.

Hilarious that BDS is still affecting so many… The talking head on he video is ample proof of the power GWB still holds over their psyche.

Here is some more on the Algore/Tipper split. Climate Scam Pays BIG!

Read the comments…hilarious and informative. BTW, that 2007 total is now way too low. Estimates have it at around US$200 mil or so.
Think Algore is going to try and pay Tipper off in ‘carbon credits’?.. :roflmao:

I stubbed my big toe this morning. It’s all Bush’s fault.

Typical petit bourgeous East-Coast liberal comment. Stub your big toe and blame it on the repubs. If your type weren’t so busy taxing and spending the world to death through oversized government and unreasonable restrictions on the lawful rights of corporations, while at the same time crying out for free healthcare for all, including illegal aliens and those too selfish and lazy to buy their own health insurance, then you could perfectly easily take care of your own damned toe, but you elitists are no better than the drunken Kennedy clan or that shameful womanizer, Martin Luther King (check out the fbi video if you don’t believe me), all a bunch of granola-munching hippies and whining socialist hypocrites, growing up pampered at Exeter and Yale, then crying for public handouts and blaming it all on bush. Go figure.

:bravo: Of course it is Brave Fellow :bravo:

Now Go Forth…ambulate further towards Greatness!… :bravo:

I think this is an interesting story - I’m going to move it back to IP, if that’s ok with the other mods. I’ll be accountable for any necessary “thread maintenance”.

If you discover anything of political relevance, let me know.

I think that the dissolution of a union between two very political people is of political interest. :idunno:
