Go kart arenas in Taipei City?

Do people participate in such lame activities here in Taipei? I googled around on the net and only found tidbits of photos and stuff in blogs and they mostly point to spots in Kending.

Why ‘lame’?

Because not everyone thinks it is cool to ride around in a miniaturized motorcart and go around a parody of a racetrack. :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually… a lot of F1 racers started out while young in go karts, granted they probably used much faster ones. Sorry can’t help you with this one, dunno where they have these, though I would be interested in finding out. I don’t think it’s lame at all.

The super slow kiddie go-carts might be “lame” for an adult, but the high speed stuff you see around Taiwan definitely aren’t - there’s a good one in Xinzhu I’ve been to, although it’s been years so I’m not sure where exactly it was. Somewhere kind of up in the mountains from what I remember. They have two go-carts, one is fast and the other is FAST. You won’t think either is lame, I can guarantee that.

There’s one in Taoyuan I know of, but never been, although I used to live nearby.
It’s called Taroko Karting Land maps.google.com.tw/?ie=UTF8&ll=2 … 1,2,-6.69

For the record I don’t really think it is lame at all, in case some of you have mistaken me. It just doesn’t seem as popular as I imagined when I asked some of the locals about it.

Thanks for the heads-up on other tracks outside Taipei. I just wanted to find a spot for me and some of my friends visiting from stateside to hang out in Taipei during the day before an evening of binge drinking.

That or mini golf. I did a search on Google and got nothing at all.

Then perhaps you should refrain from characterizing it as “such lame activities”.

I do remember there being an underground go-kart place in
the basement of the building opposite the Chientan MRT station.
Jungle something or other. They have a huge sign.

Good luck!

How bout a nice place near Taipei with two seaters where I can take the little speed demon? He loves them. Fearless, for a two year old.
