Gold card application/ TW friend or family phone#

Hi everyone,

I plan to apply soon for the Gold Card, but was surprised to see I need the phone number and name of someone (family/relative) in TW. I am obviously new here and was wondering if anyone had encountered such issue and how they resolved it.

I read a lot from the Rep. Office’s threads, a path I was working on to get the ARC and start work here. But it turned out I can’t apply if I am on the 180 days waver visa. I have to basically, go to HK, apply from there and quarantine both ways (assuming my visa is approved).

Since, I qualify for the Gold Card as well, at the latter does not have restrictions on the 180 days waver visa, I change my plans to apply to this instead.

So any “post Covid-19” advice, opinion on the choice of strategy, experience from own application, timelines, including info on the “TW friend/relative” requirement is welcome.

This is standard for any ARC, APRC or Gold Card application.
Use your employer name, ID, address as the emergency contact.
Just ask their permission first.
Second option, use your company name and address. Leave the ID empty.
Else, not possible, leave everything empty. It wont fail ur application.
