Gold Card. Proof of funds?

So I heard you are eligible for one if you show that you have earned $65k usd for the past year. Is this true and if it is, how do you show it? Log in to your online banking and print out a statement? Would that suffice?

They usually ask for official tax records.

It’s a salary requirement and they want to see a W-2 (or equivalent).

What would be the options for income earned freelancing around the world? No tax reciepts or W2s

Then it is as if it didn’t exist. You should be reporting freelance income to your local tax authority anyways…especially if you want it to count for things like this.

No taxes where I’m at

In that case you would need an alternative government issued proof of your salary income.

No such thing. Can’t be the only way, can it?

You should probably check in the massive gold card thread, since I remember a lot of people discussing this topic there.

I think they do require actual government-issued proof though - I don’t think bank statements are anywhere near sufficient.

This is the way.

Gold card eligibility is not based on proof of funds in the bank.
