I was sad to learn that the Zhangmen location in Tainan closed. Seemed busy when I went there. Anyway, any suggestions for Tainan places with good food and beer? I know a few places to get good beer without food and plenty of places to get good food without (good) beer, but the two together has been a tough find for me.

Just throwing names out there, haven’t been to any of these places. I am guessing a good food place with Taiwan Beer won’t do.

I also like 酒河豚, the grilled (BBQ) fish is great for me with beer
Simple Mart: Brauburger NT$30= 500ml (1/2 L)
Red Ant: Seafood, wood tables. Get upstairs table overlooking Anping River. Jonghua W Road
Tan Zuo Mali BBQ (T3): Prob best restaurant in Tainan, near City hall. Yongkang branch also good.
Taikoo bar is a good under the radar late nite drink spot if you want to avoid the scene; mostly locals

Dropped by a couple times. Very chill. Very few people. Bright lights inside and people, if there are any, walking by and staring into window. No seats or tables, only concrete slab to sit.
Couple nice dark chill bars with seats just few doors down.

Lovely couple, the guy trained in Italy. We usually order two pastas and the pork chop to share. Good wine. If you are craving Italian give it a try.

So at Beer Talk, do the two go well together? Never really have beer and ice cream at the same time. (Had beer Ice Cream though)
