This place can often lean negative and cynical (I admit my part in this lol), so I have made this thread to be the positive counterpart to the “Wack things in Taiwan” thread. It seems there is no other thread like this one…apologies if I missed it.
I was just about to cross an unprotected crosswalk on the way to breakfast this morning, and a hatchback almost right-turned into the path I was just about to go down. It wasn’t really a close call at all, but the driver could tell I was startled. He rolled down his window and sincerely said “bao qian” (sorry) to my wife and I.
Anecdotally, I haven’t experienced such an apology on the road here until this morning. It was really refreshing.
Exactly. Please only report experiences on the ‘good’ or ‘slightly to moderately refreshing’ scale here. Keep that dramatic ‘awesome’ category stuff in that thread, please and thank you.
Exactly. This sentence/picture completely captures the ethos I want for this thread lol. Extracting a positive from an already negative, or soon to be negative, situation.
I would say something like 滷肉飯 (lu rou fan) would be apt for this thread. Almost never AWESOME, but some places provide a varying quality of ‘good’. Really a good “eat to live” food that is also cheap imo.
