Where can I find some good earplugs? I am using some disposable plug that is actually quite good but becomes less effective with time… so Where in Taipei can I find some good, hopefully reusable silicone earplug?

You should be able to get them in swimgear shops, which of course tend to be located near swimming pools.
I live next to a busy road and use these every night. They work very well. The yellow foam ones just aren’t good enough.
If that doesn’t work I suggest to look into getting some woodworking/air traffic control headphones. You can get these from your local “wu jin hang” hardware store. They are a little difficult to sleep with. However they are cheap and good at blocking out sound. Also they will be a godsend on your next international flight.
I dont look too highly of “wu jing hang” shops because they dont carry anything of any use except for electrical tapes and maybe screwdriver (at an inflated price too) Last time I asked for some wood glue or even xacto knife I get a blank stare.
