Good jazz and good food .. any recommendations

The fact that I work in the same building doesn’t necessarily mean that the place is great.

But it’s pretty likely. :sunglasses:

I popped into Capone’s last night and caught the last set of the house band. I must say they ended the night playing some of the best jazz I have heard in Taiwan. They started out playing some Benny Goodman and after some coercion loosened up and did some improv including Dave Brubeck. Didn’t hear any Miles (yet) but I’m sure they will get round to it. They are a trio (drums, double bass, and keyboards) with a vocalist on some songs. The standout is definitely the bassist but the whole group is very good. Great! Finally some decent jazz and not just R&B in Taipei. Way to go TC! :bravo:

I thought Brown Sugar sucked as well. Too uppity, look-how-suave-and-sophisticated-we-are, and elevator muzaky when I went. Put me right off.

Definitely seconding the Living Room though - that place kicks ass.
