Goon vs Doon Valley

Doon Valley or Goon’s Bistro印度美食餐酒館 is better Indian food? I been both once, think both are good but Goon’s Bistro印度美食餐酒館 harder to get a seat as no walk in allowed (but more near me). At Doon Valley had the two peoples set meal, so maybe did not choose what I wanted (had a few choices on the set though), so if you went there maybe can recommend some good dishes to try, and good beers? Goon has nice Pingtung Beer,

I haven’t tried Goon’s but Doon Valley is the best Indian I’ve had in Kaohsiung so far. I’ve only tried the butter chicken and lamb rogenjosh. Both were better than others I’ve had here.

I’ve only had it on Uber Eats though. I bet it’s even better if I dine in.

went for lunch, had two person set. nice. was not sure what is this, but good and fast

The last pic isn’t Doon valley anyway.

It seems Doon Valley has two restaurants in Kaohsiung.

Thanks, fixed the photo (was Estonia)

Which one is better, was thinking to visit for lunch

I think they have 3 now. I’ve been to the one near Arena and the one near the river and art museum, I think the second is nicer decorations. Food is maybe a bit better near Arena. The 3rd is on wufu

So I’ve not been able to eat Indian food for a while so I’m looking forward to trying Doon valley and reporting back.

I’ve only ever been to the Poon Valley! Some amazing peaks. Poon Hill - Wikipedia

ok, will go to arena

Never been to this place, food is good?

Very tasty, especially with a MILF Cola on the side.

Had some rice, to taiwanese some seem like Spanish rice (or is it Mexican)

There is newer place on wufu not far from Doon valley: 薩加旺印度餐廳Sajwan Indian Restaurant on wufu is good, you can try this if in that area

Sajwan is pretty good. Doon is okay. They both do some dishes better than others.

I’ve also been to Sajwan wasn’t bad , wasn’t amazing. Couple running it were pretty nice. Funny enough never tried any of the Doon restaurants.

There’s another place called Poojas’s, anyone been ?

I don’t think any Indian place in Kaohsiung is amazing (Taipei has one or two). The best we can hope for here is good, and they’re good enough. Nice to hear the owner is friendly.

Biriyani I had there was good.

Goon is Australian slang for cheap wine in a bag/box. So I vote Doon

I have tried neither

Goon is also zoomer slang for… well, better not say.
