Went to Brown Sugar on Sunday, and found out that the best vodka out there is now available in Taiwan! Does anyone know where to get it besides Brown Sugar (the price was unbelievably high, but worth it
) or other bars. Some help would be greatly appreciated!
I also would very much like the answer to this.

A friend of mine use to work for Johnny Walker (Diego) and now works for another big alcohol distributor, I will ask them tomorrow.
whoever can find grey goose outside of the bar i will by you a bottle also! I am jonsing since the last dozen of drinks or so at brown sugar

I read the results from a world spirit champs a couple of years ago (1998 i think) and Grey Goose got the number 1 spot.
On the same list, Finlandia was in the top 10, Stolichnya was 11th, Absolut was 19th and Smirnoff 29th.
I don’t know who would even rate smirnoff the best vodka in the world (except Smirnoff, of course) as it tastes like shit … ask any Russian!
teggs
Belvedere was number two…yummy
I thought I saw it once at the grocery market in the basement of that mall/theatre on Civic Boulevard (Shimin Dadao). The place that forumosans rave about with the beers. yes, the Breeze.

Basically the article said that a) Vodka is mostly grain alcohol b) Only 1 or two actually distill thier own - the rest buy from the same couple of suppliers c) Most experts cannot taste the difference, especially after the Vodka has been chilled c) the rest is MARKETING
I’m too cheap to actually pay for aticle
Smirnoff - the US brand not Stoli

That particular evening I believe I was well into a bottle of McCallan 12 yr old single malt whish-key…I do not hold myself accountable for my opinions or many of my mistakes.
It’s my after midnight rule.
Well - I was sceptical myself - especially since I remember buying the stuff in plastic bottles.
Take a bottle of the triple-distilled - buy a fresh pineapple (in season now). Cut up the pineapple and put in a glass pitcher. Pour Vodka and place in fridge for three days. Drink what comes out on the rocks - do NOT eat the pineapple. Goes well with BBQ.

Good lord man! How can you mix alcohol with food!? ![]()
If you’re mixing the stuff with juice then it really makes no difference. If you’re drinking it straight and you think there’s no difference in taste and smoothness, then yes, you’re probably just as well drinking Smirnoff, or, sterno, or lighter fluid, or whatever.
“Most experts cannot taste the difference.” I’d say that’s a bunch of total horseshit – I’m no expert but I can most certainly taste the difference between cheap and expensive vodka. The state of my head the next day is also telling evidence.
Marketing? More horse manure. The only unaided ad awareness I and probably the vast majority of other punters have of vodka is Smirnoff and Absolut.

I’ve yet to try Grey Goose…but the Belvedere is really really smooth and has no noticable effect in the morn.
