I use the UMC Recreation Center in the Science Park. It offers some classes, and has a weight room, cardio machines, a track, a badminton court, and a pool/sauna. There’s also a massage center, but I’ve never checked the prices.
Is there a website for this place? How much does it cost monthly?
Currently there is a World Gym in Xin Zhu 新竹 located @ 新竹市， 北區，林森路， 273號 （north district lin sen rd. no.273) PLUS World Gym will be opening a World Gym SPORT with strength, cardio, huge Aerobics studio, Cycling, Huge Junior Olympic pool all located at the Feng Cheng 風城 mall in Xin Zhu 新竹. Presale will begin towards the end of this month (September). Get there early for great rates!! They will have a 3d flythrough video and some 3D layout posters on the floor plans!

You can probably set up your browser to translate the website into English. When I clicked “English” it redirected me to the main page for UMC.
Monthly it’s 1000 NT for no pool privileges, and 6000 NT for the year. Not sure about the pool membership, but I know it’s quite a lot higher.

But I’m moving to Hsinchu soon and want to know more about this gym in UMC. Does it have a good number of free weights?
I’m also interested in the World Gym but heard so many awful things on this forum about it.

There’s a gym on Dong-da lu called 美金豪.
i’ve been using the gym at school/work… so haven’t used any of those…
Oh this place looks great. Do you go there? Or just use the ones at work?
i don’t go to Jinbeihao, but I frequently go pass it, and see a bunch of people working out.
