Hello,
I am looking for a gym with decent price where I can access free weights and machines (traditional body building type of place). Preferably near NTU Hopsital area.
I have been really confused about gyms here in Taiwan because every place seems to be expensive small individual coaching based gyms. Then we have World Gym which made me completely stressed out because of the intensive and forced sales, why can’t they have a regular fixed price… Would like to hear if it is actually worth it or not to go through it with World Gym and how much to pay for 2 months.
TAIPEI WANHUA SPORTS CENTER

Ride YouBike from NTU hospital station to the Sport Center and you should arrive there in less than 10 minutes
- the gym is at the 3rd floor
- 50ntd per hour , 900ntd (30days gym card) , 2500ntd (90days Gym card)
- remember to bring your own towel
Across the street from NTU hospital, nt$50 per hour for weights and machines room. No ID, contract, etc. required. Just walk in, ask for gym for 1 hour.
Zhongzheng Sports Center
No. 1號, Section 1, Xinyi Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei Google Maps
There are gyms around that require no contract, ~nt$1 per minute, charge per visit, or simple monthly membership, but not so near NTU hospital.
World Gym requires a contract probably for at least one year, and you have to sit through the sales pitch harassment and negotiate price.
Couple gyms on north side of train station on Civic Blvd like Routine Fitness and another nearby that might require contract or something.
Most places in NTU hospital area are more into yoga, etc. and also some gay gyms, so might need to pick another location.
The government gyms are hell。 Disorganized, busy, messy and if you want to do a serious body building workout, you are fucked
Really recommend 300 in Ximen. Closer than the Wanhua sports center, super well organized, great equipment and 24 hrs, Can ride youbike there in like 5 -10 minutes. Will be exactly what you are looking for. Set prices and the staff are super helpful and knowledgeable
That will be for a single visit to try. They have pretty good pricing, but not sure what it is right now. Go and speak with them
The public gym across from NTU hospital is pretty good. $50 for 1 hour and $60 for 1.5 hours. It’s fairly clean and has everything you need. No hassle. You can also do a monthly things which makes sense if you’re going to go at least 4 times a week.
