Gyoza to Pierogi: globalization of the dumpling under Mongols

I have been insulted many different ways calling perogies the dumplings of the west. Bothers me a little.

yea gyoza is a big mystery…its literally the same as chinese guo tie!

Not a knock on pierogi. I love that stuff.

yes? and that makes it even less of a mystery.

now the real mystery is if dumplings influence spread all the way to cornwall and did it inspire the cornish pasty…which is basically a huge dumpling.
