Half Life 2 Episode Two Language

I’m looking forward to playing the new Half Life. However, I am unable to download it directly from Steam and have to buy a retail boxed copy. This game is distributed in Taiwan by Unalis, and I don’t want to get stuck with a Chinese edition. It appears that the language option can be changed in Steam, but I would like to hear if anyone has had any first hand experience with games from this distributor. Also, this game comes as a bundle including the original Half Life 2, which I already have. Each game has a unique and separate key, and can therefore be sold separately. If anyone is interested in playing HL2 I would be willing to sell it.

If I am unable to find this game in English maybe Big Fluffy Matthew will be importing it.

Oops, I should have specified the release date is October 10th.

Finished Bioshock, and need something to tide me over until Crysis is released.

Sorry, thought you meant Episode 1, I’ve been asked before about that one. I should be able to get Episode 2 when it comes out, but I’ll be on extended holiday at the time.

No idea what languages what the Taiwan version supports though.

My mistake, fixed the title.

I’ll do a bit more research and see what I can find out.

I had the same problem with Episode 1. I accidentally bought a Chinese language version and installed it. Of course, that was a waste of time (all the dialogue was in Chinese). But I found that because I registered it through Steam, I was able to uninstall it and then download the English version from Steam. Mind you, I would have preferred to purchase an English version in the first place. I would see what Matt can do for you (he has always done me proud).

I wouldn’t mind picking up your copy of HL2, if it’s in English.

Just register the copy with steam and tell it to download the English version… I got a retailed chinese HL2 and thats what happened…

Thanks for the input guys. I will just buy a retail copy in Taiwan, and change the language to English via Steam.

@Fortigurn: I expect the copy I will get to be in Chinese, but the language can be changed in Steam so it shouldn’t matter. I can give you more details when I have it in my hands. I started playing HL2 again last night, and forgot how great it was.
