The aim here is actual handwriting. I’m afraid that my daughter’s handwriting is about to become a severe impediment in the third grade.
She has great ideas, and can efficiently, accurately demonstrate techniques as they are taught. The issue is physical technique; she holds holds her thumb on her forefinger, between the first & second knuckle, instead of the writing utensil itself. So, she has to use her wrist for full articulation.
Her writing actually looks worse than some samples from kindergarten, and I think simply it’s because her joints have grown, making every movement bigger.
While I know what the problem is, I lack the necessary milieu to help her make what seems to be a simple [not easy] switch in technique.
