haha, I am not the only one that does not like the sauce,
So the time is here again, anyone try interesting versions this year?
As far as this festival goes, they should replace the stodgy rice version with 冰粽 everywhere. I just get a big load of these at this time of year and eat them almost straight out of the freezer. Otherwise southern style ride or die, as per @afterspivak’s post upthread.
I just saw there’s a type of Zongzi in coastal central Taiwan that has whole dried oysters in it, called 蚵乾粽. Never heard of it before.
I didn’t even know there’s such a thing as 蚵乾.
There are some interesting creative Zongzi in this video.
There’s a roast duck zongzi, a pickled peeled chili zongzi, a pomelo oolong zongzi, a taro eel zongzi, and the most shocking of all, a durian zongzi.
The youtuber seems to have really enjoyed the durian zongzi.
Am I the only person that doesn’t really care for Zongzi?
I can’t stand them. I suppose if eating a lump of glue out of a leaf is your thing, then go for it.
Great video and choices !
