Nah, the Aussies never did anything to me.
Hang around long enough…
I swear I am not mean. I didn’t offend anyone here. I was sobber yesterday. But, I am ok today. I can’t drink. I was just pissed yesterday because I thought I was nice to the last restauranteur. I did nothing in their restaurants. I thought they were nice to me. But, it was superficial. If they had any problem with me. They could ask me or tell me we don’t welcome you. But, they would rather smile first to take my order. After I paid, they totally changed. Do you guys understand my point???
You might need to work on your paranoia. The more you focus on this the more things ain’t going to get better.
Also nobody likes’you guys’ rhetoric and there’s no secret cabal of foreign restauranteurs who hate you.
Next time brings book,
I couldn’t care less what the staff thinks of me. I’m retired.
Just order coffee and read for three hours at their best table.
By the way, I am done. At least 3 or 4 people answered my questions appropriately without offending me. Some said “yes” and some said “no”. The others were trying to engaging in a conversation, and they want to take the chance to say something to get in my nerves. It didn’t work.
Does the OP have a sister named Abbey Normal?
@AbbyLee seriously, you need to lighten up. You are reacting way too seriously to lighthearted jabs. This might be why you feel so at odds with everyone. It’s okay to give back as good as you get, but try to do in an equally light way without losing your cool. Maybe some self-deprecating humor, like joke about how hard it is to be a wealthy heiress?
One of the ideas that I live by is if it’s happening here and there, it’s probably not me. If it’s happening to me all the time, it’s probably me.
That goes for everything from driving on the road. If 1 person is honking at you maybe they’re the asshole. If everyone is honking at you all the time it’s probably you.
Or in relationships. If you hate men or women because they constantly treat you poorly or you have 0 success. It’s probably you that’s the problem. I’m sure we all know someone who says things like men are terrible or women all use me or whatever. If that’s your experience you keep picking the worst people ![]()
What I’m getting at is. If you found a bunch of restaurants being unwelcoming, perhaps it is you. And judging by the reaction here again, it’s really likely it’s you.
Yeah must be a looker to be talked up that much
…or was it just one guy
This applies more here in Southern Taiwan. North in Taipei, less humor. I find all the ex pat run shops in Kao City nice, there might be language or culture misunderstanding but I think at least here in Kao more smiles than Ireland or Euro land (though Irish humor at first not get, after a bit now, miss it)
Nah, the problem is people want to add more details when I already told them everything. I didn’t write bad reviews to the restaurants, either. I was here to ask one question. But, people want to add tons of details just because of a simple question. I already said I went to 4 restaurants. The owners know each other. But, there is another restaurant in which the owner doesn’t know these restauranteurs. He is the only one who treated me better. I wanted to make sure if it is possible one of those owners have something personal toward me. So, he told to other owners about hearing that I was a heiress. Besides this, I don’t have any problems with other people.
Can’t imagine why restaurant guy, allegedly, made a face.
@AbbyLee are you on D-Card?
