Heading to China for the Chinese GP – Any Tips?

I am heading to China next week for the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai and I am very excited for my trip. It will be my first time at this race, so I am hoping to get some advice from those who have been before or have traveled to Shanghai recently. What’s the best way to get to the Shanghai International Circuit from the city? Are there any must-know travel tips, especially for a Taiwanese passport holder? Also, if anyone has recommendations for good places to eat near the circuit or in Shanghai in general, that would be great.

I came across an article about the Checkered Flag Carnival, where Zhou Guanyu will be meeting fans, and I’m definitely planning to attend. I’m sure there’s a lot more happening throughout the race weekend, both at the circuit and around the city, so I would love to hear about any other events or activities worth checking out. Looking forward to any tips and recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I went to Shanghai once in 2010 (feels like a lifetime ago now… went for the World Expo). I don’t remember how to get anywhere, just that The Bund is great to explore and the food is really good. There’s one dumpling place I went to that was famous and had a long line. They’d been serving dumplings since at least the cultural revolution, evidenced by the old posters with Mao staring back at you, and the ceramics with the revolutionary slogans. Best dumplings I’ve ever had. I don’t remember the name or location but do have a picture of it.

There are lots of good restaurants though… also, some odd ones like North Korean state owned restaurants.

This probably wasn’t much help, but thanks for giving me the excuse to reminisce.
