Me. I just kept trying to delete it every now and then and it eventually left. Never looked for a “real” fix. Might wanna reboot (if you haven’t already).
Fixed it thanks…
What worked for me was to delete using NERO not explorer
Usually you can just rename the file with a goofy extension like .qqq
then you can just delete it.
If not just go to the command prompt and rename it or delete it directly.
You might want to try Knoppix (or one of the variants – Morphix works great on nVidia-chipset machines; the original Knoppix seems to work well on anything else).
Just boot from the CD, mount the hard drive manually, and you can do whatever you want – since Windows never starts up, the viruses can’t protect themselves. (Of course, if they’re boobytrapped, next time you boot Windows you could be in trouble.)
I run into this problem quite a bit with XP. What always works for me is very simple: click on the file and hit CTRL-X (or right-click and select Cut) and then paste it into the recycle bin.
Sometimes dragging it into the bin works, sometimes not. With some programs, if that file was the last one it used, XP won’t let it delete unless you use that program to open something els (then it realises it isn’t using it anymore),
