Hulu has been actively blocking VPN access I believe. I have been unable to watch any of the clips they have when tunneling through my Witopia PPTP accounts.
You might want to talk to some of your friends in the US to see if they would be willing to set up a private VPN server for you.

Hulu all make it sound like they want to have international access yet actively blocks any and all VPN… the content providers must be forcing it. Why can’t they just work out a deal where international customers pay a subscription, since the issue is that Americans pay some kind of TV tax or something which pays for the contents.
I don’t think it’s that at all, but copyright restrictions on the content. They don’t have the license from the content providers to ‘broadcast’ outside the US. Isn’t it the same for Pandora radio?

It’s really not that hard to do.
If you’re a Windows 7 user, type the following in a command prompt:
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=”hulu1″ protocol=TCP dir=out remoteport=1935 action=block
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=”hulu2″ protocol=UDP dir=out remoteport=1935 action=block
Note that you have to install an add-on for Firefox and it only works with Firefox, but still pretty neat stuff

I was planning on setting it up this weekend. I feel more confident about it knowing that someone else has managed it!
It really works! Just make sure you use other known American IP that hulu did not block.
I am sure they’ll find a way to block this too later.
It’s a bit flaky though, as sometimes it stops streaming and you get a message that it doesn’t work outside of the US. A page refresh is usually enough to fix it though. Firefox crashes sometimes as well, or rather the add-on which stops the video from streaming.
And I just remembered how much I don’t miss US TV advertising…
The only commercials I really don’t miss are the “Have you been hurt in an accident?” ones. The creepy lawyers freak me out.
Ok. So I got this up and working last night, no problem. This morning, I watched one show and then when I tried to watch another, it didn’t work anymore. I can watch the commercials, but after they finish the screen is just black. Are you guys having the problem? Or is Hulu still working for you?
I tried a bunch of different IPs, but no luck so far…not sure what I should try next. I already did the Windows firewall blocking thing…
I guess they found a way to block that workaround as quick as it appeared

Hmm…it’s so strange though because it’s still working on everything else. I was able to watch the shows on the networks’ websites. I tried out abc.com last night and this morning with no problem.

the only thing you need to do in order to watch HULU and Netfelix or use Pandora Radio station in Taiwan is to change the VPN. by changing VPN, i found that the easiest way is to go to Unotelly. You can begin your UnoDNS setup here: unotelly.com/unodns/setup . I found this website is really convenient. After registering, i can now watch everything that was restricted before. Great!
