Help! Is this a rental scam?

Hello, looking for a rental. Found a place that’s not bad, but a bit expensive. The description weirded me out though. Is it a scam?

Also if it ended up being legit, does anyone have tips to try to bring the price down?

Thanks!

The description looks pretty standard, what makes you think this is a scam?

For the price, do you have a good idea of the market? If it is more expensive than similar places in the same area, that’s a negotiation point.

Anything wrong with it? When you look, point out any problems with a lot of dramatic signing and moaning.

Anything that you want and it doesn’t have? Anything you might have to buy? These can be mentioned as negotiating points

What’s your budget? Have the cash for 3 months (that you want to pay) in your hand when you see the apartment. After doing all the above, say what you’re wiling to pay and offer the money. You’ll find out then if the price can come down

But maybe it is a good deal. Expensive for you but otherwise it will be snapped up by someone else. So it helps to have a good idea of what is an overpriced apartment in that area…

Just the part where she says she won’t take a service fee or real estate fee?

Maybe I misunderstood that.

And thank you for the tips on getting the price lower. Its in ZhongYonghe and they want 36000 for an elevator apartment two bed and two bath.

It feels a little high though. Another apartment in the same place is renting out for 32000 two bed 1 bath.

Maybe the owner will pay that, to sweeten the deal for a new tenant. I wouldn’t hand over any money without a contract and a key in hand, regardless

Sorry I don’t know the area

Parking spaces? Fees? Same size? Same condition? Same quality interior design and furniture? Some places add 4000 just for building fees and a parking space…

Just another question, before signing how can I check that the owner is renting it out and not some random stranger saying that they are if that makes sense.

I’m not sure the best way, hope someone else here has a clear and concrete suggestion

1- You sign in the home. It can’t be a random stranger if they have the key to an empty home

2- Ask to see the deed
