Hi I have the HES Scholarship – do I have to apply while in the USA? (9 months)

I am highly confused about when to apply for the visa and what is needed since my scholarship is a government scholarship. The traditional requirements for a student mandarin visa does not make sense.

Has anyone received the scholarship before? How long did the visa take? What do we need to do?

If I were you, I’d contact the TECO you got in touch with earlier in the process about this. Least when I applied I ended up in contact with them… maybe not still the case. In which case, touch base with your local-ish TECO, they’ll be able to help. And I’m sure someone here will have more to say on the topic.
