According to Taiwan Today the Sun Eagles won the award for best band. They are a six piece band of Paiwan men whose music is an âeclectic style mixing rap, punk, rock and indigenous music.â

Any fans of this music fest? It was held regular (well, except for the COVID era interruption) since 2000. Xinbei officials have reportedly stated that itâs not coming back.

The great thing about this fest is that you literally can step off the train and youâre there. The exact opposite of their argument about traffic issues.
I spent a whole day backstage there once after taking a wrong turn trying to find a toilet. Ended up as a drum tech for the Jon Spencer Blues Experience.

Too right. I danced with them on the sand at one point. Was the Dirty Three there too or was that another year?
