Yeah, I’m typically 36.2 on a forehead thermometer and my kids are typically 36.5. Still, 37 isn’t something to be concerned about. At 37.5 in a pandemic…that seems about right to me.
The MRT’s rule is 38
I wouldn’t go there now as a foreigner. They’d probably spit in my food since they were essentially shamed to take us now.
I’d probably get the “yelpers special”

Anyone know the legality of businesses posting these signs?
There is Article 62 of the Immigration Act, which applies to “people residing” here.

I want to know the name of that restaurant, so I can make sure that I can make a blacklist of establishments to boycott. Just think about it, if boycotting could work in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955, it can work here too.
They already changed their policy and apologized.
Interesting. So when the banks turn us down for credit because we are foreigners, it looks like it is in direct violation of Article 62. Or the fact that we get refused discounts without a citizens ID card. And the Ubike fiasco.
Any person shall not discriminate against people residing in the Taiwan Area on the basis of nationality, race, color, class and place of birth.
Doesnt seem to stop anyone
Yes I’ve been refused service in Japan a few times. No virus panic either.
Well, “unless the matter is regulated by other laws otherwise.” Presumably there’s a banking law which covers that scenario. Some other things have been reversed, right?
If I see a place doing that I will go in and say it’s your right to post that, now it’s my right according to Taiwan law to sue you for discrimination. Then walk out and let them stew.
The FSC told me there is no law relating to foreigners getting credit and they leave it up to the banks to issue the credit to who they wish.
But is there law relating to who banks give credit to, at all? Just wondering, it could be relevant.
The impression I’m getting from talking to locals, is that they hear someone say something and then it just snowballs. If you point out to them that what they are saying contradicts the Taiwanese and American CDC as well as the W.H.O they quickly change it up and make up something else. It ends up a bit like arguing with a 10 year old. No logic and just pulling shit out of thin air.
with you
That’s weak man… he he ![]()
There are a ton of laws in Taiwan, and many of them contradict themselves. It’s one of the reasons that it’s so hard to do business here.
Here’s another place not allowing foreigners, but the comments show folks are not taking kindly to it.
nice name
Wow, that was a real blood boiler. It was nice to see so many locals calling out the racism though. Plenty of hope for the younger generation.
