♨ Hot Springs | Places in and Around Taipei

Did anything changed in 2020? I also love those Japanese onsen. Facility usually have different pools, nice showers, restourant, stone bed, massage service, relaxing room, sauna…
Beitou has great hot spring facilities with restourant and massage and that all.

I absolutely love these places in Japan, as well as places like the capsule hotels with such facilities and the onsen joints with those relaxation lounges and booze vending machines. The lack of this in Taiwan is nothing short of a crime

All of us are waiting for someone to come along andpost some magical place. Taiwan is more expensive in certain ways than apan, this is one. And the chinese culture in general isnt good at aesthetics in geberal, nevermind on the japanese level.

Im sure this is possible in taiwan. Such as taidong, pingdong, kaohsiung etc mountains. Land is cheaper and all that but most of the land good hotsprings is gov or aboriginal and its hard to get approved for new roads. Ironically, most of these mountains roadways were also built by the japanese (slaves).

When we lived in japan tbey had them on the beach for free in places. Ither o es were 50 to 600 yen…jeeze. Even had naked grandpas washing my back. You dont get that here :frowning:

sounds hot

I had to put down my razor…it was a shock, but man those guys are seriously the most comfortable with their manhood i have ever met. Sharing shaving cream, soap, towels. Damn.

The luxury hot springs hotels are the closest thing I’ve found, but they’re going to be much more expensive than what you typically find in Japan. Grand view is a nice option around Taipei: 露天風呂 - 北投麗禧.

日勝生加賀屋國際溫泉飯店

I haven’t been to this place in many years and it does not have all the facilities of a Japanese onsen that people have mentioned but the setting was good and the price was right.

Looks really nice. Does remind me of Japanese style onsen houses.

If you spend a certain amount (it was NT$400 per person) at the restaurant, entry to the public baths are included.

There should be a bunch of those in Wulai. It also depends on how far you’d consider “close”. There are some nice ones in Yilan and Miaoli.

GF and I regularly go to the Emperor Lounge hot spring
Even though have to put up will bus trip that makes me think of old movie Hell Drivers
2 pedals on a bus stop and go to be stamped on and the steering of a go cart.
Anyhow part of it was closed this time so all had to use only one open, sauna was like a Sardine tin, not a pleasant experience.
Reason photo should suffice to show why was part closed.

Your description sounds like you hated it but you pulled out a 12-year-old thread talking about favorite Hot Springs so I don’t know.

Their website is terrible.

It’s been on my visit list but now I’m not sure.

Located here

Normally is very good and is my favourite, however 2 spa out of 3 closed so all in the one spa was not a comfortable experience.
Sorry I didn’t explain better.

My girlfriend is coming up to Taipei for the weekend and I would like to take her to some nice spots here. I was thinking of going to hot springs in Beitou that aren’t too expensive. Does anyone have any advice on where to go for hot springs? Can you recommend your favorite romantic places? Thanks!

Take her for a hot spring and massage at Sweet Me.

She loves it.

All the hotsprings in Beitou are expensive. Are you planning to take her into a private room or use the outdoor public facilities? An overnight stay or an hour?

What’s your budget for romantic places? It’s not much good us suggesting places if you can’t afford them.

Almost all. The co-ed public hot springs are NT$40 on the weekend and NT$20 during the week. Our guests a few weeks ago went there and said it’s beautiful. It’s not private, but it is a good place to soak.

Wulai is a great place to go to the hot springs. You can take a bus straight there. Spend the day walking in the mountains, eating local food and a bit of shopping. The hotels have nice spa in the rooms. And there’s a great outdoor spa there. Sorry I can’t remember the name but pm and I can describe where it is.
