Hotel in Taipei with swimming pool

I have some cousins visiting Taipei in September and they want to stay in a hotel that has a swimming pool.

They found the Hyatt and Le Meridien on line. Are these recommended? I would think there might be better places for cheaper. Or does the Grand Hotel have a swimming pool? And if it does, would this be recommended (these are cousins who have not travelled much outside of the US, and so maybe the Grand Hotel would seem more unique to them?).

W hotel?

Donghua South Road, Shangri La (Far Eastern Plaza) has (had) 2, one on the 6th or 9th floor I believe outside their fitness center and one on the rooftop. Shangri-La

Best pool with a view in Taipei is on rooftop 45th floor of Shangri-la. Amazing views of city while swimming. Also a lap style pool on 6th floor. Marco Polo lounge and other restaurants just below.

I still remember the 6th floor pool, did a private PADI Open Water pool session for a (European) manager many years ago, he wanted to do the pool part and theory before his trip to Thailand. Was nice, the concierge and porters carrying up all the gear.

Yeah, I can’t imagine there’s anything better in Taipei than the Shangri-La pool for relaxing. It’s also an Asian based luxury chain that will satisfy the “it’s unique” requirement.

By the way, not really a trendy crowd, mostly families, locals with a gym membership, and business people. Can get drinks and food ordered up where as most hotels have a poolside bar or restaurant. Very private. W Hotel would be the most trendy pool but with lot’s of people watching you from restaurant and bar.

I think the Grand Hotel has a pool and requires a short walk across a parking lot. Not sure.

Yes, it has an Olympic-sized swimming pool.

Thanks everyone. I’m going to recommend the Shangri-La. I think the central location will also be attractive to them. They can venture out by walking around and there’s much to see in the area that will be very different from what they’re used to.
