How do i remove something form a picture using photoshop without erasing the background aswell? I have a picture that I want to remove a necklace but I don’t want the colour of my skin to be different or weird. I’d appreciate it if you diddn’t give me links to a video because sometimes my laptop doesn’t load them which is gay. But like a step by step instruction thing is good: )
Use the Heal tool.
If that doesn’t work, use the clone tool (and select Darken or Lighten, as appropriate).
Select a patch of colour the right shade for what you want to remove.

Plenty of PS gurus here - why don’t you post it and maybe someone will do it for you? They may even post some screen shots of the process for future reference.

What he says. Actually I’d go for the clone tool first, but that’s just personal preference.
Feel free to post something for people to work on. Even if you just want to post a selected part of the image, so you can remain anonymous. You can always stick the other bits back on yourself.
Thanks – that was just a quickie; I only had a few minutes between jobs to do it, so there are some rough spots.
senereeta, I used the brush copy the white color of the background, then erased the extra hair. To erase the hair which was covering body areas (similar to what you want to do), I delimited the edges of the arm, shoulder and neck with selection tools (so that what I did next wouldn’t spill over onto the white background and tie), then I used the clone stamp tool (looks like a rubber stamp), selected the right size, with fuzzy edges, then held down the Alt key to select the area I wanted to copy from. I then placed the tool on the hair areas and tried cloning skin to cover it. This takes a lot of trial and error to learn how to choose skin areas of suitable color and darkness, how to blend the edges so they match, and so on.
With a necklace it might be easier because you presumably have skin showing next to it which is of the appropriate color and darkness. In the cover pictured above it was harder and I didn’t really have time to work on it to make it look good.
You’ll want to learn how to work with layers if you’re using Photoshop. You can google for free tutorials on this. It’s worth investing a little time to learn this. You can also find some tutorials on using the clone stamp tool.
Post your photo here and whichever one of us Photoshop fiends gets to it first can show you how it’s done. You can black out the face first or crop the picture if you want to stay anonymous. Or you can send the original pic to me by PM and I’ll PM it back to you.
