How Do send a fax to America

I have been lookin on the internet. It says i need and exit code (011) a country code (002) and 1 then the number. This create this for me 011-002-1-507-653-5487. This seems like to many numbers. Also, does anyone know if i can do this at 7-11 once i figure out the right way to do it? Thanks a bunch all!!

7-11. Just ask the clerk how. Ditch the 011 in front. Don’t know where you got that from. 002 is the code for placing a call outside Taiwan. 1 is the code for US.
I send faxes to the UK, for which the code is 44, and I do 002-44-xxxxxxxx.
Be aware, however, that there are a bunch of options for cheaper rates and they can sometimes require quite long prefix codes. Not really relevant for faxes, though – they’re more for phone calls.

Awesome…Thanks Sandman

Generally a country will have one or more numbers to dial OUT of. 011 is when dialing international FROM America for example. 002 is commonly used to dial international OUT of Taiwan (when you ARE in Taiwan). Taiwan may have other numbers then 002 that are cheaper as Sandman says.

For example when i dial taipei from california i go 011-886 (Taiwan country code) and then 2 (taipei code without the zero in front used when dialing from outside of Taipei while in taiwan) then then fone number in taipei say 2222-2222.

When dialing a san francisco number from taipei i go 002-1 (usa country code) - 415 (san francisco area code) - then the fone number itself say 222.2222.

Basically get the 7/11 clerk to help. Just take your fax out and say AMERICA OK?

Should work.

If calling from a cellphone, just hold down the 0 key to enter a +. That is a universal prefix for international dialling. Makes it significantly easier to call numbers in an addressbook while roaming internationally.

dial 002-1-area code-number

it usually works

joeleitz, the proper dialing sequence as mentioned previously is 002-1-xxx-yyy-zzzz where (xxx) yyy-zzzz is the NA telephone format. The 011 is unnecessary when you’re in Taiwan.

By the way, 7-11 charges NT$85 per page of international fax I believe. If you have more than 7-8 pages to send by fax you might be better off mailing it out by UPS 2-day air if the docs could wait a couple of days.

Just use Skype to fax. I think it’s more affordable.

I don’t think that Skype supports faxing

Not out of the box. But there are companies/services that you use skypecredit to fax.

Kenneth

Yes, you can send a fax to America at any 7-11.

But I wonder how often people would use the fax these days when we live in the age of computers?
If you have the Internet access, the receiver’s e-mail address, you can just scan the document into pdf. file. If you don’t have a scanner, just take a photo of that document; then send it through e-mail.
Quick, cheap and reliable
