How do you guys find living in TW?

First, i am Taiwanese who have lived in NZ for 9 years. so take me as a half-Kiwi…lol

Well, just wanna ask you guys the feeling live in TW compare with your own town.

I have to say the environment is the biggest problem, I have pimples since i came back.

NZ? Do you know Anton?

Well, I start and end most days with a good brushing of the teeth, and everything else is pretty much the same also.

With my own town? Better. Compared with many other places / cities? Worst.

Found it by looking on the bottom of my toy cars and there it was “made in Taiwan”.

Nice to know that my toy driving skills from when i was 5 were completely transferable to the roads here.

Thailand?

Very simple. I go to www.forumosa.com and then I go to the section called Living In Taiwan.

Groan…

My home is anywhere I hang my head.
Taiwan is great for low taxes, yet caveat emptor:
One gets what one pays for.

Truer words were never said, tht said, the health system here is good, if you spend the time finding a good doctor.

Apart from that pu9blic services here suck. Wonder if they will ever learn to build a road which will stay reasonably smooth for more than 6 months.

Could you recommend? I’ve not had a proper checkup in over 15 years. I would like to establish a relationship with a decent doctor, seeing as I do see myself continuing to live here for some time yet.

Welcome to Forumosa! Well, there are as many different opinions as there are people, but some common feelings are that life in Taiwan is cheap (especially local food and rent outside of Taipei) and convenient (for shopping, services, food). It’s also very lively - there’s always something happening. the most common complaints are the pollution, crowding, and the crazy traffic.

I find a major factor that determines how much someone likes Taiwan is the weather. If you love the heat, then it’s a great place. If you hate the hot, humid summers, half of the year is an ordeal.

Roger that.
Health care here is good, the doctors proficient, and there’s none of the waiting/jerk-around which abounds amongst other health care systems.
Especially that of Canada, which is a horrendous joke in the extreme.

I love the hot humid summers !!! I hate the dreary TAipei winters. Great for about a month then it gets old fast.

Of course you do! You love perving at all the gorgeous (dare I say “young”) female flesh on display. I dislike the heat but love the visual beauty of Taiwan at this time of year; the dramatic colours of the landscape: vibrant green rice fields, brilliant blue skies, dark thunder clouds, and the lovely backdrop of the central ranges. And needless-to-say the beautiful women.

I Recommend this hospital.

Errm, I have only gone in for real treatment when I had a complex fracture of my right hand. The guy fixing it was a great hand surgeon, however he does nothing else.

If it isn’t serious most doctors will do, if it’s serious the very biggest hospitals are the ones to go to.

How did you find the transition from clean NZ to not-so-clean TW?

Ive been in NZ 12 years and going to go over there in Dec this year – Ive also heard similar complaints about skin becoming bad – either it’s the dirt or the body adjustment

Lots of countries have bad roads, and I was shocked by the state of the roads in the States … especially the “highway” between LA and San Diego. (not saying you’re from the States though)
