So my wife hasn’t worked for the last few years, and pays into 國民年金 “guomin nianjin” every month (or might be every two months?). I was wondering how this money works in relation to the existing 勞保 “laobao” pension contributions. Does the money you pay into 國民年金 “guomin nianjin” go into the same pension account that 勞保 “laobao” payments from your employer would go into, or is it a separate thing entirely?

I got no idea… as far as I know it’s a tax for unemployment…
