How relevant is Canada?

No it’s not. Canada is pretty much overshadowed by the US on the global stage in most aspects I can think of. Finance is one.

Like I said, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Seems like the US is going into another crisis every month.

I’m surprised by the push back on this. Most Canadians seem to agree and understand what I mean. I could say that Taiwan is pretty irrelevant even though in some aspects it punches above its weight for a tiny island. On paper, Taiwan does matter. But I’m not under the illusion that people around the world follow Taiwan closely even though I think they should more than ever with geopolitics.

Oh, that’s what you mean by irrelevant. My mistake

I would say that is the major reason why. I’m not saying Canada doesn’t matter, the opposite in fact. On paper, Canada does matter. Which is why it’s interesting to me that Canada doesn’t seem to get much attention on the global stage. I would say the same thing for Taiwan, whats happening in Taiwan is quite important for the future of the Asian pacific and possible shift in superpowers.

So what you’re saying is, only superpowers are relevant?

No. Not at all.

Do you think non Canadians think much about Canada in any way? It’s just an observation.

Would this make Canada relevant on the global stage?

I would say yes. Because that’s my point. Not saying Canada doesn’t matter, quite the opposite.

So, this? (FIFY?)

I surmise you may be a non Canadian…

People don’t think about Canada much outside of Canada. Not sure why this is a surprise.

According to Trudeau Canada doesn’t have a nationality.

The Canadian passport is issued by her majesty.

…I like Aunt Jemima…

My response if presented with Aunt Jemima or similar so-called “syrup”: reject

Brown sugar!

I see these two as very different statements deserving of different responses

I don’t know much about Canada either, but from what I do know, you should build a southern border wall to keep it safe!
There are a lot of rapists and murders living in the country next to you.

Let’s expand this to how relevant are most countries? Not that relevant.

Yeah, I agree with @TT
You seem to be back tracking. I agree with most of what you’re saying now, but that’s not what you first said. It didn’t seem like it to me

I’m not. If you’d bothered to ask me clearly what I meant, it would have been clear.

That’s quite a rude response. Go back and read your first post. It’s very clear your back tracking

I wouldn’t think so. Canada isn’t very relevant on the global stage, this is the most we’ve talked about Canada on here as evidence of that.
