@meishijia posted a good question about family members getting LPA funds after death.
This started me thinking about foreigners dying in Taiwan, what should surviving family members do?
is there a guide somewhere about that ?
for example burial in Taiwan, how does it work? is it free ? do you have choices ?
how can surviving family members get access to bank accounts ?
if main arc holder dies in Taiwan, can the family stay ? what about wills and property ?

There’s no burial in Taiwan unless you own a plot already no?
Cremation is pretty easy. You just rock up to the crematorium with the body in a coffin and take a number. You’ll need to prepare a red envelope otherwise you’ll be waiting all day.
You’ll also need a death certificate in case anyone was thinking of disposing of an unwanted body.
Reading this thread during the longest earthquake I felt in Taiwan was quite weird!
How does one obtain the Death Certificate?
