How to deal with autism/aspergers

You have said that many times that you’d prefer work to handouts. Respect.

I don’t judge. It’s not about like or dislike for me. I decided a long time ago that if I were in their shoes, I’d probably just jump, so I’ll help out. I don’t get any special feeling out of it, and aside from you guys and my wife, no one even knows I do it…save the janitor at my old school who was in his car and saw me do it one day.

I find it funny that soldiers have to swear an oath to defend the us constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic yet he’s not allowed to read about a person who exposed a government agency violating the constitution.

Or that even property rights are being eroded except for the rich.

That shows the us only follows their own constitution when they feels like it. The us is not different from countries like present day Russia .

Funny thing is when I was a soldier here in Taiwan there were no restrictions on what we could read. Just can’t have porn on base. We could read CCP propaganda if we wanted to.

it may not be much help for your immediate need, but it won’t hurt you regularly post an ad of your services on forumosafied section.

I remember you posted images of making a guitar and I enjoyed it. That kind of posts may help to advertise your services too, I guess.

Been doing that but it did not help

My point is, it won’t hurt. And who knows, one day there might be someone who is boring here, looking the ad accidentally and wanting a guitar.

What do you think about asking him for a Google review or to help promote you by let’s say, posting on social media (like Facebook or IG) about the guitar you built for him? Have you explained the situation with the case and thanked him the same way you just posted here? If he’s a nice guy and provided this value to him, he may be receptive to these suggestions.

Don’t give up :slightly_smiling_face:

Keep trying different things. I think the advice Andrew gave you on about Instagram is pretty good. Re-read the things he wrote. Copy what he does, copy what others do. It won’t require any face-to-face social interaction. Take things step-by-step. One day, you didn’t have IG, the next day you took step 1 and now you have an IG with some photos and hashtags. There’s going to be 100 steps, but you can do it. Again, the goal isn’t to become a rockstar, the goal is get some leads in your niche. Have something you can use to show to others and directly target those who need your services.

The reality is…This is irrelevant to what you need right now.

There are loads and loads of coding jobs out there and you don’t need to deals with people that much…Have you tried getting into any of that ?
I know for a fact there’s money to be
made in block chain and decentralised finance coding and that block chain programming isn’t super complicated.

Another thing you can do is look for a partner to take care of all the marketing and social media stuff. You just offer them 20% of your sales. Is that too much ?
No because it’s 20% of something that you won’t get in the first place and it allows you to focus on what you do well.

Are you willing to give at least 20% of your sales to somebody to do that for you ?

He just posted a review.

As for partners, I think 20 percent isn’t much to ask because that’s more than I can get right now. I just haven’t found that person yet

You may even have to offer more at the start. if that person can be a good marketer for you you won’t even lose any money . He or she needs to be able to create a broad funnel of interest in your work first as the market is not massive in the first place.

That’s awesome :grinning: This is a great start.

Do you have any past customers that you are on good or neutral terms with that you can ask for Google reviews? Maybe while you’re communicating with them, you could give them a promotional deal for future business, tell them about your new IG, or show them your indestructible picks?

I posted asking for help about my asperger’s and all I got was a bunch of “advise” and flame.

Which only further proved my belief that I have no friends.

Well what did you expect? Some sort of miracle solution?

No, he wanted “advise”. Then he got “advise”. Then he didn’t like the “advise”.

I guess I learned that people are evil by nature, and if not stopped will be mean.

Just like people will not give you 1000nt but would spend 10,000nt to make sure you suffer.

Help yourself. Lots of people took the time to help you, including me. It’s you that holds you back.

I’ve been doing what you said, but nothing has come of it. Apart from a few likes on instagram (which I have to actually work hard to force myself to post something on it daily).

I am helping myself, but it takes time for me to figure out how my skills can add value to others.

It’s about quality content. I’ve shown you what other people in your same exact industry does that are successful. Does what you post seem close to what they’re posting?

I’m going to be honest. Maybe you are just better off being an employee. You don’t seem to be able to run a business. Some people just don’t have what it takes. And that’s ok. Being self employed takes a lot of self marketing. I don’t think you grasp that aspect at all.

If there is a company out there looking to hire a luthier, I don’t care what country it is (as long as it’s a country where work permits aren’t onerous to apply for), I will do it. But until then, I have little choice but to be self employed.

So if there is someone who will buy or acquire my business and do the marketing, I will be all for it. I would be content being an employee in my own business.

I can’t do marketing, it requires skills no person with Asperger’s can possibly do.
