How to post an event on Forumosa these days (2024)

Please don’t feel this way. I think what you are doing is awesome.

In fact, could you use the Create Event feature when you do post events? You can find it in the Gear :gear: function. Just putting in your Event Date and Time will add that information to the thread title on the topic list pages.

Remember that there are 2 different ways to add dates to your posts. They do not do the same thing

1. Event Calendar: “Create event” adds a timestamp to Topic List Pages

Here is an example of a Topic List Page

From the Events Forum Topic List

and here is another example of a Topic List Page

2. Topic Calendar: Timestamping a post this way is only for a Calendar inside the Thread

So, for example, you could start a Thread in the Events Forum about all gigs at B 'IN Live Space in Keelung, then add a calendar to the OP of the thread by adding this code

[calendar]
[/calendar]

NOTE:

  • This must be in the very first post (the OP) of the thread
  • and these 2 bits of code must be written this way – together on separate lines – just like in the example
  • they can be added anywhere in the OP – beginning of the post, in the midst of text, or at the end – they will only appear inside the OP so you can add text (background, introduction, rules, instructions) before and after the calendar

Then when you timestamp posts in this thread (i.e., the button pointed to by the red arrow), those events will appear in the calendar inside the OP of the thread (and not on any other calendar on the forums nor any topic list pages). Those events in the Post Calendar will jump down to the event when posted.

It looks pretty useful when readers choose the list view of the calendar

This is explained here: Creating a Calendar | Topic Calendar
